Titled "Fall ins Blaue", Falling into Blue will present art created by He Hongyun on crumpled Xuan paper. They are abstract images made from a combination of crumpled marks and the artist's fantasy. She compares this working process to an adventure from which she derives self-awareness, as Spinoza said, "We believe we are free only because we are conscious of our actions."

With the exhibition series "Kunst im Schloss" ('Art in the Castle'), the town of Wertingen has been offering a forum for contemporary positions in art every two years for more than 30 years. The title of the upcoming annual exhibition is "Hintergründe" ('Backrounds'). It determines what is happening, resonates and thus creates the context in which an event is to be seen. To recognize reality, the view behind the scenes it is essential. The exhibition therefore wants to give meaning to what usually does not immediately catch the eye.

Helen Hoffelt, Professor at Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD), and professional photographer and Char Norman, CCAD Dean Emerita, and fiber artist have come together to produce a dynamic body of work.
This collection of two-dimensional and three-dimensional work addresses environmental issues as they relate to indigenous communities of the Amazon Rainforest. Both artists have a strong track record of contemporary work based on the idea that natural forces affect and reflect the human condition. In the exhibition, the artists’ intent is to bring awareness to the issues and to impact human responses to the environment. The work is comprised of a combination of materials and techniques, relating to the expertise of each individual artist as well as joint explorations and discoveries.

Exhibition curated by Ângela Barbour, idealized by Altina Felício and the participation of 22 artists invited to think about the issue of Water, the Tietê River, inspired by the text by Mario de Andrade, "The Meditation on the Tietê River" and reflect on the 100 years of the Modern Art Week in 1922. “Laço, Vínculo” refers to a kind of invisible chain or moral or affective bond that exists in the relationship of proximity between people and between them and the whole of Nature.
What have we been doing with the waters and rivers of our lands in the last 100 years? And how has our art evolved? In this project the artists will not only revisit the 1922 Modern Art Week, but create with it and its participants a bond of survival, what we need to rescue, how we evolved, how we can continue, in relation to Art, our Autonomy and our lands, especially our Earth!

The exhibition MINIARTEXTIL is a juried group exhibition from Arte & Arte held annually in Como, Italy (314 applications 54 selected). For the 30th anniversary in 2020 it could not take place and was postponed 2 times due to covid.
After Como, the exhibition also goes to other places and the cooperation with Montrouge has existed for 16 years. Artworks, exhibited in the frame of the 30th edition of Miniartextil in Como from April to July 2021, will be exhibited in Montrouge, a quarter of Paris in February 2022, where it has been shown annually since 16 years. The partnership with Arte & Arte is a strong element in the cultural identity of Montrouge.
The basic material of Bara Lehmann-Schulz' artworks is varnished cotton textile arranged in a square with a horizontal hole pattern. Vertical sections of thick paper strings and video tapes are alternately pulled through the holes so that a particular surface texture developed. The colour of all ingredients are black, but due to the individual materiality, structure and form, a special rhythm emerges and a normally monochrome black appears matt or shiny, depending on the viewers angle of view….

The role of Art and Culture continues to be progressively recognized as having tangible effects on our social, economic, environmental, and educational well-being. Biennale TRACARTE 2020 has been shifted due to Covid 19 to December and January 2021/2022.
The exhibition highlights one of the assumptions at its base, namely that the artist's book cannot be bridled in a 'genre', but constitutes, as Giorgio Maffei, one of the greatest connoisseurs of the material, believed, a 'polyform object'.
The curator concludes: "The exhibition path itself has privileged a free approach to the works, without suggestions of diachronic readings or thematic, technical or material aggregations: the exhibition is the historical precipitate of the artists' individuality and it is the uniqueness of their passions, of their meditations, that each work must give back to us.

The exhibition highlights different cultural and original ways in which fibrous materials and textile traditions can be used and utilized. The exhibition features several sculptural pieces made of everyday materials that have been manipulated and used in surprising ways. The Galleries have mounted over 500 exhibitions since 1980 with yearly gallery attendance averaging 25,000 visitors. Paper and art have always been closely related, but paper usually plays a role that is literally behind the scenes. It is the medium on which the work of art is created and presented, or it forms a decorative frame in the form of a passe-partout, for example. Papers of various qualities are the material for artistic illustrations or turn a photo into a high-quality work of art through its special structure and feel.
The exhibition "Paper Worlds" of the Seligenstadt Art Forum, curated by Nanette Kernstock and Ruth Wahl, deals with a different position of paper in art. Here, paper becomes the central medium of design.

Trenton City Museum
299 Parkside Avenue
Trenton, NJ
The artist Edward Babiarz of Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania USA was recently awarded Best in Show for fiber arts at The Trenton Museum Society at Ellarslie Mansion, Trenton, NJ USA.
Edward Babiarz' work, 'Intersectionality' was chosen from over 619 artworks submitted for consideration for this highly competitive juried exhibition. The 'Ellarslie Open' is the Delaware Valley’s premier annual juried art exhibition since its inception in 1983.
Composed of hand dyed, first cut cotton linter that was hand pressed and individually hand sculpted, 'Intersectionality' leads the recipient towards paths intertwined and untaken. Energy abounds and reveals caverns opening toward other explorations, inviting the viewer to look closer.
The artists' motivation to create this piece came from his inquisitive sense of how entangled forms can create a sense of wonder, compelling us to look deeper into unknown pathways.

Jan Alison Edwards and Ophélie Pauchet (mixed media artists and members of the Association Chaine de Papier France) spent 6 weeks in summer 2019 on an artist’s residency in Northern Ireland. They were housed in a former grand convent with many workshop possibilities and the base of the Arts Group 'Shore Collective'.
The project consisted of three weeks research, experimentation and development on the use of an invasive species seaweed growing around the coast of Northern Ireland, as fibre for an installation project. The walk through the installation 'Walk in the Submarine Forest' highlights the over use of plastics and the hidden damage being caused by so much plastic pollution in our sea and rivers.
The installation will be presented for the first time in the Sou Sou West Gallery of the Lyme Bay Arts Group Symondsbury Estate, Bridport Dorset UK from September 11 to 27 in the exhibition “CLIMATE CHANGE“ during the Eco Festival “INSIDE OUT“

Fragile meets Monumental
Gjalt Blaauw and Ina Fekken are exhibiting in the Nagele museum.
Gjalt creates striking sculptures in clear forms with a poetic playfulness. The sculptures are formed in his head, the process of thinking, brooding is converted into sketches, ultimately in sculptures. Tension and balance are conditions. He works with steel, stone, paint, wood, everything that creates contradictions within a work. Much of his monumental work can be found in and around the city of Groningen.
Ina works with paper, installations currently form the core of her oeuvre, her other works arises from it. The inescapable influence that man has on nature / environment is its central motif. In her work, the subject contrasts with the sweetness of the technique and the fragile material. She has a strong relationship with the historic Groningen churches and has made temporary paper installations in various churches.
The exhibition features sculptures and rarely shown drawings on paper by Gjalt Blaauw, together with works in paper by Ina Fekken.
