Olga Serral va estudiar Il·lustració i Gravat, però mica a mica va anar centrant el seu interès en quelcom més essencial, el PAPER.
Va començar a treballar amb papers japonesos, el PAPER WASHI, estudiant la seva tècnica d’elaboració. De fet volia incorporar la tècnica del gravat en la pròpia elaboració del paper.
L’Olga Serral recupera el gust pel treball artesanal. Treballa el paper i totes les seves textures, composicions i interaccions. És una obra honesta, que incideix en allò que és més essencial, el suport com espai de creació en si mateix.
Els papers de l’Olga experimenten amb altres objectes, elements naturals que es fusionen amb la pasta de paper i deixen la seva empremta, com les cicatriu que resten quan les ferides estan guarides.
Recentment ha viatjat a Japó per conèixer de primera mà els mestres del paper WASHI, el paper més prim, més dur i resistent que hi ha. Una tècnica mil·lenària que requereix d’un procés costós i quasi ritualístic.
Actualment li interessa especialment el treball amb el COTÓ, per la seva puresa i possibilitats. Els resultats són obres de gran simplicitat i elegància, una oportunitat per retrobar el gust per les petites coses que requereixen de perseverança i dedicació, qualitats que probablement millor defineixen a la nostra artista.

Olga Serral studied Illustration and Engraving, but little by little she focused on something more essential, the PAPER.
She started working with Japanese roles, the WASHI PAPER, studying her production technique. In fact, she wanted to incorporate the technique of engraving in the own elaboration of the paper.
Olga Serral regains her taste for artisanal work. Work on the role and all its textures, compositions and interactions. It is an honest work that focuses on what is most essential, support as a space of creation in itself.
The roles of Olga experience with other objects, natural elements that are merged with the paper pulp and leave their mark, like the scar that remains when the wounds are cured.
She recently traveled to Japan to learn first-hand the WASHI paper teachers, the thinnest, toughest and most resistant role. A millennial technique that requires a costly and almost ritualistic process.
She is currently particularly interested in working with COTTON, for its purity and possibilities. The results are works of great simplicity and elegance, an opportunity to find the taste for the small things that require perseverance and dedication, qualities that probably better define our artist.
